This was our first stay at the Paramount and will not be our last. The hotel was clean and easily accessible. Staff was super nice, friendly and informative. The hotel was quiet, almost felt like we were the only ones there. we had a balcony room and it was so nice to just sit out there in the morning and get some fresh air =) . We also had drinks and dinner at their restaurant, Swine Whiskey Bar, and OMG some of the yummiest drinks in Portland! Food was also really good. Definitely would stay here again!

Overall great stay here. Greak walking distance from almost everything downtown portland has to offer. The lobby was beautiful and the staff were friendly. They also have a great fitness center! My only complaint is their Tv’s were all non-smart so me and the wife couldn’t watch our netflix shows or other streaming services and were instead stuck with their basic 60 channels đ

Highly recommend this hotel, will be returning often due to how well we were treated there. Beautiful building, fantastic location and the staff is good at making you feel like they genuinely appreciate your presence (so rare these days). And a special shout out to Joanne who happened to be a contact for us while we were there on business. She is professional, kind and clearly takes pride in her role there – The Paramount is lucky to have her.

Our go to place for special occasions. Currently their main dinning room is closed but we actually enjoyed an early dinner on a patio in the same block. So pleased they were able to stay open during the pandemic. Menu is more limited but offers a broad variety. Quality and service are 5 stars. Not a great value but that is a secondary consideration for a special occasion celebration.

The Higgins pop up outdoor dining experience in the lush tree lined open-air courtyard at Portland downtownâs Oregon Historical Society a relaxing and convivial setting. The food is always some of the best in the Pacific Northwest. The friendly and knowledge wait staff always welcoming. Superb!

As parts of downtown begin tentatively reopening, Higgins Piggins is there for people longing for a genuine sit-down dining experience. They are located on the patio outside the Oregon Historical Society. We came here for lunch after a visit to the spectacular Ansel Adams exhibit at the art museum on the other side of the park blocks.
Making an online reservation was simple and straightforward, and, though you might technically call this a food cart experience, everything about being seated, served, and eating was first rate (as I would have expected from anything bearing the Higgins name).
I happily ordered one of the few burgers I’ll eat during a given year, knowing that it will be done right. And, though we were outdoors, they had what looked to me to be the full list of Belgian beers that I am used to seeing.
All in all, I’m thrilled about my first sit-down dining experience that I’ve had since pandemic times began. I was very glad to experience it with the staff and chefs at Higgins.

I just want to start this review with a huge shout-out to Nate. Having never been to Portland, my partner and I were very hesitant to just walk into any restaurant but we caught them at a slow moment and Nate took the time to show us all that the social had to offer. Oh man, and what it had to offer was awesome! The food was sublime, we pinged and then we ponged. Overall I think that if I lived in Portland, this would be my regular hang out spot. Thank you for making the first leg of my journey one for the books Nate đ

Loved the ambiance and the variety in games! It’s very much a first come first serve for the games. Be sure to bring money for the activities because they can add up really quick. Most of the games are 1$, but bowling for 4 was $64 including the shoes. I came with a crew of 4 and we all had a blast. Definitely a good spot to have fun with friends on the weekend!

Great service and great food. Our waitress whose name was Fair was amazing and a total JOY. She was fun and attentive with a great personality and so much fun. We ordered the vergitarian Nachos and rosemary fries and let me say you can tell there was love in the food because it was delicious. Can not say enough about the overall vibe and feel of the environment. We will be back again and recommending the place to friends.

I dream about this food. Worked for the chef 15 years ago and I never became tired of her flavors. There’s a fresh simplicity with a secret twist here and there that will always satisfy. Do not fear anything on the menu. Try it all. Even the side dishes like green beans and papaya salad will blow your mind. It is common for people to order these as a main and get a protein side. The thai tea is the best I’ve ever had.

Real french fries, not the starch battered pub fries that are so quizzically popular in Oregon. All the food is lovely, as with all the rogue houses I’ve visited, it’s always as much of a focus as the beer. I wish this location, adjacent to student housing and a college campus which originated in Vanport, was occupied by a place that was more affordable for students and faculty. It’s a half star gripe at most. I just know that if I lived on campus, untold sums of my student loan disbursement would have been spent on their Turkey BLTA’s.

Dogs are not allowed inside, and no staff comes outside to take orders, or make sure there are clean bowls for water. Can’t ask for more from an upscale lunch spot. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable staff. A variety of excellent choices on the menu, expectations exceeded for each one. Hubby doesn’t even like clam chowder and he said mine was great. Both our salads were fresh and well balanced in terms of the flavors and ingredients. The shrub beverage was a new concept to me, and now I’m a fan. And the bread they serve is pretty amazing. Plus, the butter is soft, so you can spread it easily. It’s well worth a splurge, calories and cash.

Food was sub par. Cane out cold and many of the sides are not substitutable even for an extra charge. They just straight up don’t do it. Also the steak (yes I know it’s a seafood place) is less than 4 oz. It’s not even a whole steak. They cut 5 tiny slices and give that to you. It’s the most pitiful $46 steak I’ve ever had. The salmon was cold. Not at all worth the money. Did not live up to the hype. Mediocre at best. My wife wanted the best seafood in Portland. This was the place that came up and it was sub par. For the amount of money I spent, it needed to be way better. If it wasn’t so highly acclaimed it wouldn’t be a problem, but it is 100% not the best seafood in Portland. If you want a nice meal avoid this place at all costs

I always enjoy Southpark! They’re a great spot for consistent food, drinks, and service. We went for their happy hour, not a crazy good deal (a couple bucks off select items) but I was happy with the selections. Shrimp cocktail was good, classically prepared. Oysters were ok, I wish the mignonette packed a little more punch. I thought the gnocchi in the chowder was fun and inventive. Clam broth did not go to waste, sopped up with their delicious bread. Solid seafood restaurant in Portland.

For being a national chain, McCormic and Schmickâs delivers an impressive level of consistency in both service and quality of food and beverage that seems, unfortunately, to be trending towards something that is now rare to find. Menus rotate regularly enough that even if you dine with them weekly, there is still a good chance youâll be able to find a new menu item to try. For the wine lovers, youâll find a very extensive selection: it takes up the entire backside of the menu.
If you dine with them regularly, I would suggest signing up for their Landryâs Select club program. There is a $25 fee to sign up, but it is given back immediately in dining credit, and itâs easy enough to collect the 250 points needed for another $25 reward.
As far as things go for this specific location, the staff are fantastic: very friendly and welcoming and many will make a genuine attempt to know you better if you become a regular diner. While the best views are from the outdoor tables when the weather in Portland cooperates, the tiered seating in the dining room means you will generally have a good view of the waterfront, regardless of where you sit (the exception to this is the bar area, with itâs single floor and former tap room converted in to additional dining space.) If you arenât sure what to order, donât be afraid to ask the staff; they donât immediately default to the specials or highest-priced items on the menu. They will make an honest recommendation.
In short, McCormick and Schmickâs delivers a consistent experience at reasonable prices and without the markup for an excellent location. If you dine with them regularly, join the club. Itâs worth it.

Great place to eat. Had a mixture of high class and casual dining. I ordered the big plate of calamari and it was amazing. Not too chewy. Not under cooked. The calamari came with a sweet glaze, which over was a little much. Would have been nice as a dip rather than a glaze but still tasted great. Near perfect presentation of all the food. Waiter was friendly and speedy

The entrance was a little bit difficult to locate being a visitor to Portland. I like to spoil myself every few months by going to a fancy steakhouse, so while traveling to Portland people told me the “Portland City Grill was the best steak house.” “You will have the best steak you have ever had there.” I immediately got excited and Rushed over there. The steak I ordered had quite a bit of fat on it, but I n
Don’t mind a bit of fat, but it might be more fat and gristle than others would like, and it was not as tender as I was hoping for. And the sauce the green beans were cooked in kind of over powered the flavor of the green beans. The meal was delicious, it truly was a great meal, but I feel my hopes were ups little bit hearing people talk so highly of it. The view was amazing being 30 floors up. So a great meal with a great view, what more could you ask for on a Saturday evening.

I love this place but I have to say I wish they had more options on their menu. It seems like they stick with steak/seafood which is good but same old same old. My boyfriend and I decided on Ruthâs Chris for his Birthday/Graduation dinner after hearing high praise of service and food quality. As we arrived we were greeted and taken to our table. We eventually ordered and I had gotten a chicken entree, some time comes to pass (roughly 50 minutes). Our waitress returns to tell us what I wanted was currently out of stock and Iâd need to choose a new entree. I chose a combo dinner. I informed my waitress a soup or salad would be too much food and agreed to charge me the combo price without giving me a soup or salad. After I placed my new order it took almost another whole hour before we got our food. Once our checks came I found I was charged separately for everything that was apart of the combo rather than the combo itself. I tried communicating with my waitress some more but she ultimately refused to do anything for me. This is all after agreeing to charge me for the combo and not everything separately like she went ahead and did. Another issue we experienced during our visit was the lack of a free birthday dessert. We watched a table next to us get a free dessert for a birthday they were celebrating. I had even made sure to call and get reservations and let the host know it was a special birthday, and graduation celebration.

It’s been a few years since I was last at Mother’s, but they still have the amazing quality and wonderful service that helps make my day. I made reservations for three using their website for a Thursday morning but, as I had a train to catch, I asked if they could seat us a bit earlier. The host was able to accommodate our party.
The new dining area is very spacious and the windows bring in so much light. Our meal arrived very quickly. While I feel like the portion size was smaller than in the past, this was a blessing as they didn’t advertise half orders on the menu.
Mother’s continues to be a wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it.

We had a great experience this morning with the food and service. Our waitress was so friendly, I believe her name was Emily. She really made our brunch a delight.
We shared the blueberry pancakes and the wild salmon hash. Both were good, but I preferred the hash just because it was more flavorful. But for good food and beer decent portions this place can’t be missed.
Plus I loved the tongue in cheek attitude, and even had to get one of their shirts!

Cool for beer and some sports but they charged me 6$ for a tiny bowl of Cole slaw which was literally a handful of bagged slaw with a vinaigrette splashed over it. Could’ve used that money for another beer instead. So food gets a toss to the quarter back and dropped.

This is such a fun way to have dinner for the family or especially on date night. You pick your several fondue courses and drink and then spend time cooking it in a broth or whatever you choose. You go from cheese, to protein, and to desert. Dipping and cooking and most of all enjoying. It’s a great way to spend an hour or two and plenty of time to enjoy yourself. This is the only place where everything is the right amount of food, leaves you room for desert, and you leave happily full and not that over stuffed and too full to do anything feeling.

I normally don’t write reviews like this but this is kind of appalling. Went in to get an untoasted sub, hoping to find some sort of cool area to hide from the heat while also getting something to eat. The store’s air conditioning wasn’t working, the worker behind the counter looked like they were suffering because of the heat, and when I got my sandwich it was grossly warm for something that’s supposed to be cold. To whoever owns/runs this establishment: if your air conditioning isn’t working during the all time record-setting heat wave, maybe just close the store instead of making your workers suffer all while the food has no hopes of quality.

I have never been so happy with a subway sandwich! Michael M. seriously made the best subway sandwich I have ever had. Usually subway is kind of good, but never excitingly yummy. Not so when you get a sandwich from Michael Mâ these sandwiches are amazing. My boyfriend and I came back less than a week later for more subway because of this amazing man! I know, I know… how different could subway sandwich artists really be? Itâs just a subway sandwich. But seriously. Michael M. pays attention to every detail, and piled my sandwich with just the right amount of veggies and cheese. He is so kind as well, and clearly a very dedicated employee. Weâll be back, thanks to Michael M!

Literally the worst Subway. It used to be great when they had people working here who like prepped the food and could manage to remember to throw stuff in the microwave, and now I go there on any shift (twice today) and they never have stuff prepared and instead of getting food fast itâs âif you could sit here for 10 more minutes (already been here 10 minutes waiting on one personâs order) I can make them.â

I highly recommend Picnic House for a casual lunch or a fun dinner night. Their friendly staff will make you smile. I recommend the Vegan Tomato Soup, Fried Chicken (be sure to ask for their hot sauce), and the S’mores Cake for dessert. If you can, try to sit at the bar. It’s very lively and fun.

Lovely! Well air conditioned, good food, lovely service. Understanding service staff, and the manager/owner is at very least Irish and honestly absolutely delightful. I probably would give this pub 5 stars if they had Strongbow on tap… a cool half pint of snakebite and black would have gone down a real treat on my visit. Otherwise, honestly 10/10.

The cigar bar downstairs. Never felt more like the Godfather than sitting at their huge, old table with old chairs, chatting with some great friends. They have cigars in their own humidor that you can purchase. Couple that with a quality Old-Fashioned and you are in for a great night. Recommended highly!

Really nice pub, looks typical tourist on the outside, more authentic on the inside. Decent range of beer, and food I had was good, and the crac with manager was good. Never got a chance to try the lamb, as they are currently only open Fridays and Saturdays. Hopefully that changes soon.
