Special thanks to the staff at this location for working to keep it open during the pandemic. The morning staff are always friendly and welcoming, and make me feel at home, I really appreciate them.

For a relatively smaller location they actually have a lot of equipment and space, including a pool. I never have to wait to use equipment.

Also the gym is clean and spotless, and a safe place to workout.

First time at the studio with my friend: At the beginning of class, our instructor (male) asked if we wanted adjustment & assistance through tough and proceeded to give us a little card that said yes on one side & no on another to place in front of our mats to answer. Being it a man we just met, we both flipped our cards to “no.” The instructor repeatedly physically adjusted both of us, and at one point in class I noticed him giving a lower back massage to another woman in the class. (?????????)

The studio was grubby, and the environment was not at all relaxing or restorative.

I have attended many yoga classes at many yoga studios and therefore have a fair understanding of industry standards & practices. With that being said, it was a very weird, unprofessional, inappropriate experience & will never be back.

Very very very rude couple that owns this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they like dealing with out of line rude stuck up people. And to make it worse your property gets stolen all the time there due to their lack of securing it safely.

I rowed here for almost 10 years. Great group of guys in the master’s rowing program, both sweep and sculling.

Anyone interested in learning to row should check out their learn-to-row program. Great way to experience the city… from the water.

The studio is a great size, layout and lighting, with windows allowing fresh air when weather is right. The teachers are exceptional. Even the newer teachers have inherited an expansive repertoire from the more experienced. I also don’t drive whenever possible, so the access to Max is wonderful even in pouring rain.

I began taking classes at Jewel Yoga in January 2018, and I wish I had started much sooner. I go to Cindy Irvine’s Gentle Yoga classes, and it is perfect for what I need. Somehow Cindy remembers everyone’s particular issue (ankle, hip, back issues, etc.) and is a wonderful instructor. Jewel Yoga is close enough to me that I can walk to class, but I would follow them to wherever they were located.

I have been a regular client of Heidi’s for ~10 years. Her knowledge, skill and experience as an instructor are ever present and she applies them in a very client-centric manner. This welcome approach means I always feel Heidi operates with an awareness of my skill level (pushing that level in a way I appreciate!) as well as any body-idiosyncrasies that happen to be at play. Heidi made the transition from in-person to online classes seamlessly. I look forward to my virtual classes with Heidi just as much as I looked forward to my in-person visits to the studio.

Heidi is an exceptional Pilates instructor! Her warmth and sincere presence allow for deep transformation. I have never before felt so seen and affirmed as I do in her intimate class setting. She integrates an empowering holistic approach and facilitates deep exploration of each students unique shape. With her intuitive, dynamic and inspiring guidance I am feeling stronger than ever and trust that my ultimate health and fitness goals are achievable.
I highly recommend Portland Pilates Collective

Had a private Pilates session with Heidi Weiss – very impressed. She tailored the session to fit my goals, was super knowledgeable about ways to modify the equipment and exercises for my body, had precise feedback for my alignment, and yet made the whole session fun and inspiring. The time flew by! I left feeling lighter and more engaged with my body.

Have been coming here since I started at PSU in 2018. The equipment is great and Love all the staff there! Except there is a new trainer (female) who is usually shirtless when she’s with male clients (in a sports bra) or wears crop tops and it just seems to be inappropriate especially in a professional setting. I get it’s a gym which is totally fine when you’re by yourself or with friends. But the other trainers or workers don’t dress like that and it kind of just gives visitors/members and other staff a bad vibe or image.

Solid campus rec center! If you’re good to the staff, they’ll be good to you. I think my only complaint is that the climbing gym is so small, and that the equipment is so run down. I ended up buying climbing shoes as a beginner because the only rentable pair my size has gaping holes in both of the toes (rendering them almost useless, ha).
Other than those small things, it’s a great rec center. The outdoor program is phenomenal and you can rent stuff for super cheap which is great.

Nia the Technique has been a major influence in my wellness: mind-body-spirit. Since 2001 when I stepped into my first Nia classes healing began and Nia has continued to influence my way of life and living. Nia is not just a fusion fitness. The principles in each Nia belt level is a guide influencing psychosocial, intrapersonal/ interpersonal along with the holistic components.
I have been teaching Nia classes since 2007 to the present. There is no better way to experience Nia then taking off your shoes and stepping in….
Hope you dance Nia and find out for your self.

RIDICULOUSLY priced for it’s value. The heart rate monitor is not included in the price of the classes which are already about $69/mo. for weekly classes. I like the idea, but it’s just not worth it for the same workout I can get at any gym.

I highly recommend this studio! Clean, spacious with kind and knowledgeable staff. This was my first gym workout since the pandemic. I was a little apprehensive to workout with the public again and this studio made me feel so comfortable. To add to my great butt-kicking workout, I was having an issue with my parking kitty and Alex at the front desk paid for my parking from her own card. It was so kind of her to do that. I am definitely going back.
