Have to admit worst Marriott experience ever!!! Stayed here this week on our Portland trip. The entire hotel is in a dire need of renovation. The carpets were old and filthy. Breakfast options were almost no options at all (they didn’t even have toast or bagels… or any other packed items). The sofa bed in our room had springs coming out of it. Kitchen utensils were really old and dirty. Do not recommend it at all.

Rooms were pretty dated, carpets are looking pretty ragged in places, and breakfast was really bad. I know it’s a pandemic and services are limited, but there weren’t even wrapped pastries. The coffee was burnt. It wasn’t a bad stay, just not anywhere close to as nice as we were expecting. The parking garage was really nice – wide spaces and ample room.

The river view and the lobby are both beautiful. The room is also super clean with complete and nice amenities. The hotel offers free bicycles for guests to borrow from. Highly recommend borrowing the bikes to cycle along the river. Bike lane is safe and has good views.

This hotel felt tired. The location in Portland is good and felt safe, but the area is not as beautiful as the website will have you believe. The rooms were tired and there was not In-room dining options Monday-Thursday (even though the website says everyday). We even called down for a bottle of water one night around 8pm and there was nothing available. Disappointing if you are looking for a luxury experience, but a safe place to stay for a quick overnight.

Thank you to the Kimpton for hosting our wedding, dinner, and wedding night! All the staff was so kind and helpful they made our day so easy, stress free, and special. A HUGE thank you to the manager Parker who made sure we had everything we needed, it was truly the best customer service! We will
Absolutely be back for our anniversary!

Don’t forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a room. This website will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I’m sure!
We had a great experience at Portland Marriott on the river front. From check in, which was made exceptional by Bronwyn, to drinks at the bar before dinner. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the location was great. My only recommendation would be for them to have more valets working on Saturday mornings so that people didn’t have to wait 30 plus minutes for their car. Or advise guests to request their car 30 minutes before they actually need or want to leave.

Last minute reservation here, was great to arrive after a long day to a comfortable beautiful room at a fantastic hotel on the river. Even our small “city view” room was great. Can always count on Marriott to deliver—of anyplace in Portland, this is head and shoulders above everything else.

I stayed at a nice and super clean comfort room. It had great hardwood floors (fantastic for my allergies) and an updated decor. Absolutely everything was neat and clean, all amenities in working order, and our stay was super pleasant!
Parking is so convenient and affordable! Their location is close to public transport. The pool area is beautiful and a great nook to relax in leisure to read or chat with friends. It had a nice fitness room, and although we didn’t take advantage of it I heard from another guest that their breakfast is great. For the price point I’d give them 5-stars, A++. Highly recommended!

Great size room and very clean. Very appreciative that they let us check in earlier than the check in time. They provide free cookies at check in and they have amazing breakfast options, not just cereal and milk like some of the higher end hotels. Only downside is parking is not included and the walls are thin so you can hear other people in their rooms as well.

I think the best part of this hotel is its location. Right outside of the hotel is a station for the train that runs through downtown. Inside the hotel, the pool is well kept and the staff are extremely friendly! They were so welcoming and kind to my friend and I, and they gave us advice about navigating the downtown area. Wonderful customer service. I think the only downside to this hotel is that you have to pay extra for parking and the walls are a little thin.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The downstairs kitchen had really good food, I was actually surprised. I was so excited that this was a dog friendly hotel even though I didn’t bring mine! The rooms were very nice and very clean. I will say our AC was set around 55 and would not get colder than about 70. I am a hot sleeper so that was a bit disappointing. But other than that, great location, great rooms, reasonable parking, loved the balcony option! Will stay again and recommend.

Is there a way to find out how many times I’ve stayed here? I am lost track of time. Love the place for sure?
Thank you, but as you should know that I am now getting too old and I have fallen which is keeping me from coming back to your beautiful hotel. I just can not go to your hotel. Is there another way of finding out how many times I’ve stayed there with you and my wife? Can I email you? So you keep records of how many times we stayed there? After this virus is over with my family and I want to have a big family get together as we all live in different parts of this world and we wanted to share all the times we spent in your loving hotel if you have an email I can provide you with my driver’s license to prove who I am. I am too hard of hearing to talk on the phone. Please get back to me

Room is a bit cramped in certain areas, the bathroom has nice amenities; however, you can’t sit without pushing against the toilet paper roll.
As far as everything else, the building is nice, the furniture and bed are comfortable and the TV is huge. The room decor is tasteful and cozy.
Matt, down at the breakfast bar, was extremely polite, and outgoing. Made for a better experience just by having a small conversation.
Great staff!

This place is great. I love the entrance and the entire feel of the hotel. We had a rowdy neighbor, like a really rowdy neighbor and when we finally called the front desk they handled it immediately and professionally. Even with that it was a pleasant experience and our room had an amazing view of downtown Portland from way up high.

A pretty elaborate hotel located within a historic building. They have a gorgeous library that will awe you as you walk through. The rooms were quite nice. We had a huge TV in our room- literally the largest TV I’ve ever had in a hotel room before. It was great for the night and I’d stay here again. Cons- I heard a cat in the room next door, so if pets are allowed, it’s a bit concerning due to allergies. You can smell weed in the hallways as well. It’s not cheap or not too expensive- it was $160 (including $30 resort fee).

Even though the staff was operating with a skeleton crew, the service was still excellent. The hotel itself is a beautiful little gem. The art collection is also outstanding.
It will be lovely when some normalcy is achieved and the hotel can once again offer a bar and restaurant (currently closed)

This was our first stay at the Paramount and will not be our last. The hotel was clean and easily accessible. Staff was super nice, friendly and informative. The hotel was quiet, almost felt like we were the only ones there. we had a balcony room and it was so nice to just sit out there in the morning and get some fresh air =) . We also had drinks and dinner at their restaurant, Swine Whiskey Bar, and OMG some of the yummiest drinks in Portland! Food was also really good. Definitely would stay here again!

Overall great stay here. Greak walking distance from almost everything downtown portland has to offer. The lobby was beautiful and the staff were friendly. They also have a great fitness center! My only complaint is their Tv’s were all non-smart so me and the wife couldn’t watch our netflix shows or other streaming services and were instead stuck with their basic 60 channels 🙁

Highly recommend this hotel, will be returning often due to how well we were treated there. Beautiful building, fantastic location and the staff is good at making you feel like they genuinely appreciate your presence (so rare these days). And a special shout out to Joanne who happened to be a contact for us while we were there on business. She is professional, kind and clearly takes pride in her role there – The Paramount is lucky to have her.

This is a tricky review. If I was purely reviewing the hotel – it would be a solid four stars. Valet and the bell desk were superb, with great restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and well equipped – with a quality bathrobe. Only negative in the room was they had shower gel / shampoo dispensers attached to a wall like a cheap Holiday Inn. It’s a strange decision given the quality of the room. Check in was efficient. The problem was the restaurant, Urban Farmer. If you’re charging $70 for a steak, you expect it to be cooked properly. I ordered mine medium-rare and it came out blue. A second steak in our party was the same – just badly undercooked. We sent them back and when they came out, they were now over-cooked and stringy. In fairness, the manager did not charge us for them and gave us a free dessert. Would not recommend people eat here – especially when there are many other good restaurants a few minutes walk away.

Very comfortable beds! Kind and helpful stuff!
The Urban Farmer was fantastic! .Delicious food friendly staff!
Watch out for the “bouncers” at Departure. They are rude and have weird rules. You can get on the cancellation list, but you can’t be on the cancellation list and the wait list. If you sit at the bar you lose your place in line and no matter how many times you ask to be seated in the shade, they assure you and seat you in full sun.
Once you get past the “bouncers” the wait staff is awesome and food is delicious.

Had all kinds of trouble with our room, the shower was leaking, the fridge did not work, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I was going to not leave a bad review despite our time with this Hotel be sub-par. But then the business charged our card $50 randomly three months later. BEWARE they might just randomly charge you extra.
I have since contacted this properly three times, trying to find out why my card was charged. The first time I called I spoke with a friendly gentleman who said he would look into it and call me back with a supervisor. I never received a call back from him. So two days later I called back this time asked to speak to the supervisor the gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and reassured me that he would take care of it. He said that he would call me back later that day to confirm that the $50 charge would be taken off as he saw no reason for it to be there.
It’s now been three days since that second contact and I still have not received any communication from the hotel nor has the charge been reimbursed. So I’m left with just contacting my bank which means I have to cancel my card and that is a huge hassle for me. This is a business card that is used in associated with several accounts so it puts me at an extreme inconvenience.
Not only did this hotel commit fraud by charging my card without any reason or consent but they did an absolutely disgusting job at trying to rectify the wrong.

My friends and I have never been to Portland so needed some advice getting around and finding good spots to check out. Staff was friendly, engaging and accommodating. Ate on the restaurant while we were here and the bartender was awesome, and the food was delicious. Definitely notable. All around great service. The hotel was mindful of distancing and cleanliness. My only complaint was the dispensed water provided on each floor. We filled our glass water bottle as provided, and the water was super filmy and cloudy (obviously didn’t drink it). The room was clean and modern. Kitchen staff was happy to prepare oatmeal for morning room service, although it wasn’t on the menu. Loved the service. Lots of surrounding businesses are still boarded up, but there are still plenty of open shops and eateries in walking distance.

This is a beautiful hotel. The interior is brand new and everything gleams! Our room was large, quite and comfortable. Wifi was excellent. The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the city. It’s located about a block from Pioneer Square with access to Portland’s Max rail system. We stayed 4 days and took the train everywhere, including the airport. If you’re traveling to Portland, this is a terrific place to stay.

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious. Highly recommend it if you are a looking for a decent place at a decent price point. In case you are driving in to the hotel, there is plenty of parking space available near the hotel premise. Try parking in the available parking space rather paying for hotel parking which would come to about 30$ or more. All in all a great place to stay.

Amazing hospitality!! We found ourselves in Portland without a hotel reservation. Kimpton Hotel Vintage was very accommodating and got us checked in right away. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The little touches like doormen, wine happy hour and fresh coffee in the lobby were appreciated. Speaking of the lobby – it’s one we actually wanted to hang out in and did on a few occasions. Came back to the lobby after dinner with friends and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The staff was very helpful in selecting a wine and they even brought an ice bucket to keep it cold. There was always someone hanging out in the lobby but it was never loud or uncomfortable. If we’re ever back in Portland we’ll definitely stay here. Maybe we’ll get a chance to enjoy the restaurant & bar that were still closed during our visit.

Attractive hotel inside and out. Clean and updated. As expected, no standard maid service or restaurant availability (maid service available though upon request). Everything worked in the room and bathroom, and temperature in the room was easily controlled. My only issues are 1. there are two large chairs in the room and it’s a bit crowded. 2. Second nightstand has no power outlet available (though to be fair the desk and other nightstand have plenty). 3. No dresser, only two drawers in one nightstand.
Due to #3, I’d recommend the hotel for only a couple days stay. Any longer and I’d want a room with a dresser to put my clothes in.
This hotel is in a great location though, easy walk to restaurants and shopping. I wouldn’t hesitate booking another room here. But if it’s a long stay, i advise asking if there’s a room with more storage.

We stayed in the spa suite which had a nice giant tub and a large dining table. It was nice having the dining table to play board games but they have a board game room downstairs that you could use as well. Customer service was excellent and the staff seem happy to help. The $30 gift card to their bar and happy hour were nice perks as well. Also a great location in downtown Portland! Will definitely be staying here again.

Great hotel with a indie feel, amenities within walking distance, helpful and friendly staff that are very accommodating (big shot out to Eli for giving us some great dining and bar recommendations that were on point). Valet parking overnight was available for $45 per night but there’s is public parking directly across the street for less (but a little more sketchy). Room were decorated nicely with a big closet for storing your belongings. Overall, I works definitely come back and stay there again for another visit in the future.

The room is kind of small and cramped with all amenities barely fit in, without much space to spare. The price is not that cheap for this limited space. There is no parking space onsite but one across the street managed by a third party for $11 per night. The staff are very helpful. We needed a microwave to warm up some food and they delivered one to our room promptly. The location is in downtown Portland with easy accessibility.

Hotel was decent for the price. Booked our room through Hopper and we were supposed to have a River King but it got processed as a Hillside room. Drove around the building looking g for parking and all I found was a permit only lot labeled for an adjacent business, guess they charge you $29 to park in that lot, you will find that out after you check in so plan on moving your car. there are no options close by. Not a good location.Bar and restaurant no longer exist, no little shop at the front desk, they clearly don’t pay attention to cleaning either despite the strong bleach smell. Floors weren’t swept or mopped, wall and baseboards were dirty. I want my money back

Every bit a 5-star hotel in my opinion. The staff couldn’t have been better, the hotel is a piece of living history, it’s very well maintained and in a convenient location downtown. There is a $30 amenity/resort fee each day but you can make it worthwhile if you take advantage of the breakfast, social hour and snack credit.

We were in Portland for a wedding and this was where we stayed. This place is super beautiful inside, that’s obviously the first thing we noticed. The valet was fast and friendly and it’s cheaper to valet then to use the creepy parking garage next door. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast before we went, definitely stop by the pool and hot tubs before you leave. The hottubs were HOT and very very powerful, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious, even the coffee was good. I would definitely stay here again, it was worth every penny.

This is a grand, beautiful hotel, totally remodeled. Our suite was so spacious, and the breakfast and happy hour were unexpected touches. They were on top of everything. It was a highlight of our Portland trip. The only downside (not the hotel’s fault at all) was the number of homeless and tents near and throughout the city really – we never felt threatened or anything, but it brings the mood down for sure.

For a motel, this is a pretty decent place to stay in Portland. You’re right next to food carts and coffee, but you’re also next to a noisy tram, so beware of that if you’re a really light sleeper. The furniture and carpets aren’t the cleanest/newest in the rooms, but the showers are new and re-done, and I think that’ll matter more to you than a carpet. Found a used cigarette under my bed but other than that, a pretty tidy place. Beds were decent too. Also for whatever reason they have Herman Miller Aerons as desk chairs in the rooms, and those are like $800-$1200 chairs so there’s that too. Nice and helpful staff as well. Parking is a bit tight if you have a larger car.

I visited the property a while back and will put a fair review here. The location was great. Albeit the tram sounds were a little loud at night but that said I could sleep ok. The room was ok, not dirty but not super clean, it’s ok. For the price you pay it’s quite good for pdx. The tram is out front and takes you anywhere. However…. sadly the guy at the front was so rude. It was like he hated his job and dispensed attitude to not only my friend and I, but to other people checking in. It is a let down to see something like that as guests pay for for the room and the owners pay him. It’s also sad as I liked the location and coming to Portland a lot I just wanted a budget place I can stay at the one place, sadly this isn’t it. Look I saw a lady at the front once and she was really nice but the young guy just basically made it a let down and the reviews here mean he is still working there sadly. He could be family, not sure. If you are after a budget hotel close to transport this is the place. Just ignore the young man at reception and ask for the manager for anything you need, sad you have to do this but such as life.

I do not have any complaints about my room or the service, and the location was pretty good. I stayed for 2 nights, and on the first I had an uncomfortable incident. Someone knocked on my room door around 1:00am. I checked through the peephole and saw a man, maybe late 20’s and not very threatening, and I decided not to answer the door as I was with my child, it was late, and I didn’t know this guy nor was I expecting anyone. He continued knocking and would not leave. I watched him through the peep hole, and he proceeded to go to the window and tried to open it! I had left the window cracked and this scared me. I threw open the blinds, which startled him, and very aggressively told the guy to leave, twice. He lingered a few seconds longer before going down the stairs and taking off on a bike. Needless to say I didn’t sleep very well that night, but had forgotten the incident by the next day. Aside from this, the stay was pleasant; the shower was surprisingly good.

Stayed here in the past and now. Will NOT be staying here again. On top of the outrageous price for what it is, they charge another 12 dollars daily for parking. We had to ask for coffee machine and there was no one at front desk quite often. Next time we will stay out in Beaverton where parking is included, like 99.9 of hotels I have stayed in my while life. Also, the place smells like curry. Which I love, but I don’t want to smell 24/7.

Considering the price, the rooms were very clean and spacious. Right across the street was a wide variety of food trucks. This was the first time I visited Portland and I definitely enjoyed my stay. Honestly can’t think of anything negative about the hotel or staff. I guess if I’m going to nitpick things, there was only one downside. The second lock on the hotel door was cracked and had stripped screws. I still felt safe staying there

I had a great visit at the Mark Spencer Hotel! Brad at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming! My room was towards the backend of the hotel, so it stayed nice and quiet. The room and bathroom were clean which is most important to me in a hotel! The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated all the extra pillows. The parking was conveniently located right across the street. Also tons of restaurants and shops in walking distance too! Hope to stay here again sometime!

An old hotel but the room was very nice with a good view of downtown. Location is the main factor! I would definitely stay here again due to the convenience of being able to walk everywhere. Friendly staff and no complaints.
